SCHOOL MEALS/PIZZA FRIDAY

 Please find attached a copy of the new menu for the Summer Term.  In addition to this we are introducing ‘PIZZA FRIDAY’ to the menu.  Starting on Friday, 9th May 2008 a selection of Pizzas, potato wedges, coleslaw and salads will be available each Friday lunchtime.  This has been introduced in other local schools and has proved very popular.  If your child does not normally have a school meal and you  wish your child to stay on ‘Pizza Fridays’ please send £1.60 into school on the Friday in a clearly named envelope.  Please note that an alternative meal will be available for those who do not like Pizza.

 I need to inform you that with effect from 1st September 2008 the cost of a school meal will increase to £1.70 per day, £8.50 per week.  The price of school meals has remained constant for the past 3 years and whilst the Governors and myself are very reluctant to put prices up we do need to cover increases in utility and staffing costs.  LCCS who provide school dinners are striving hard to improve both the menus and the quality of food served as part of the ‘Healthy Schools’ initiative.  The new Spring menu will be issued shortly and I do hope you will encourage your child to sample the meals.  Thank you for your support.
